Colour Mirrors is a visual, reflective energy system and coaching tool that uses the psychology of colour to help the coachee gain insights into their behaviours, emotions and thought patterns.

Each colour represents different qualities, strengths and challenges within us. By working with colours, clients can explore areas of their lives that may need attention, identify hidden strengths and gain clarity on what may be holding them back.

How does it work?

During a Colour Mirrors session, you are guided to choose colours intuitively or respond to colours presented to you by your coach. These colours act as mirrors, reflecting your inner world back to you in a non-judgemental, accessible way.

For example:

  • Red may highlight areas relating to vitality, assertiveness or ambition.
  • Yellow could represent Joy, optimism or being over-analytical.
  • Blue often reflects communication, calmness or unspoken truths.

By exploring your reactions to each colour, you gain insight into your emotional state, unspoken needs and unconscious patterns.

Why use the Colour Mirrors in coaching?

This technique is particularly useful when:

  • You feel stuck but can’t quite articulate why.
  • You want to explore emotional blocks in a gentle, guided way.
  • You wish to understand your patterns of behaviour and thinking.
  • You seek a creative, intuitive approach to self-reflection.

Colours bypass overthinking and enable you to access deeper layers of self-awareness, often leading to profound “aha” moments that can be translated into clear, actionable steps.

Benefits of working with  Colour Mirrors

Deepens self-awareness: Helps you understand your reactions, motivations and patterns more clearly.

Supports emotional processing: Colours can help you connect with emotions that are difficult to express verbally.

Encourages action: Insights gained often inspire practical changes aligned with your values and needs.

Enhances intuition: Encourages trust in your inner wisdom, complementing logical goal-setting.

Accessible and gentle: Suitable for those who may find traditional talking approaches challenging.

Using Colour Mirrors in your life and work

You can begin to apply the principles of Colour Mirrors by:

  • Reflecting on the colours you are drawn to in your environment and what they represent for you.
  • Journalling about your reactions to colours during your day.
  • Using colours intentionally in your workspace to support desired states (e.g., blue for calm focus, yellow for joy and optimism).
